Today in class we will discuss the basics of writing in-text and works cited citations. We will review the guidelines in the Little Penguin Handbook, and we will do some practice work with quoting and citing sources. We will continue working on these skills on Wednesday, November 2. Bring your Little Penguin Handbook to class.

How to Save In Rich Text Format

Saving a document in Rich Text Format is easy. When you type your paper in your word processing program, go to the "Save As" command (it's usually under the "File" menu). When you click on that command, a window will appear. At the bottom of the window is one little box where you insert the name of your document. Below that is another little box with the label "file type." There should be a little pull-down arrow for you to click on, and when you do that, one of the types on the menu is Rich Text Format .rtf. Click on that type. Your document is saved in Rich Text Format. Remember that if you are typing in Microsoft Works, that is not the same thing as Microsoft Word. Therefore, you should save in Rich Text Format. If you're working in any other word processor than Microsoft Word, please save in Rich Text Format. Thank you.
